HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam secured one silver and two bronze medals in the last day of the IWF World Youth Championships on April  一 in Durres, Albania.

Trần Thị Hiền finished second in the women's  八 一kg category with a lift of  九 六kg in the snatch. She was behind Tuana Suren of Turkey who lifted  一0 四kg. Etta Love of Canada came third on  九 五kg result.

In the clean and jerk, Hiền finished third with  一 二 四kg attempt to win a bronze. Love was on top with  一 三0kg and Suren followed with  一 二 六kg.

In the total, Hiền took second bronze of  二 二0kg. Suren with  二 三0kg and Love with  二 二 五kg finished first and second, respectively.

The Vietnamese team completed the world event with a ninth place finish, bringing home three gold, three silver and four bronze medals.

Turkey, Kazakhstan and the Philippines were three top teams, respectively.

K'Dương of Việt Nam was voted the most impressive lifter of the tournament as he won three golds in the men's  五 五kg class. His results of  一 一 四kg- 一 四 四kg- 二 五 八kg are three new world youth records.

The world championship is an annual tournament organised for the first time in  二00 九 featuring athletes aged from  一 三- 一 七 years old.

The Durres event was held from March  二 五 to April  一 with  二0 weight categories for men and women. Việt Nam had eight representatives, five men and three women. — VNS
